The Weather is Changing…

The weather is changing – what does that mean for your landscape?

As we start to cool off and begin to experience stronger winds and rain, there are 3 simple things you can do to prepare your trees, shrubs and lawn for the change.

  1. No tree is immune to winter storms and can result in property damage. Weak or loose branches should be pruned out. Heavy branches can break under the weight of ice.  Consulting a landscaper for an evaluation is a good idea this time of year.
  2. This is also the time to have your lawn aerated, followed by a fertilizer designed to build a strong root system.
  3. In your garden, remove fallen leaves that could spread disease. Then put a 2 inch layer of mulch down to help prevent spring weeds.
