The weather is changing – what does that mean for your landscape?
As we start to cool off and begin to experience stronger winds and rain, there are 3 simple things you can do to prepare your trees, shrubs and lawn for the change.
- No tree is immune to winter storms and can result in property damage. Weak or loose branches should be pruned out. Heavy branches can break under the weight of ice. Consulting a landscaper for an evaluation is a good idea this time of year.
- This is also the time to have your lawn aerated, followed by a fertilizer designed to build a strong root system.
- In your garden, remove fallen leaves that could spread disease. Then put a 2 inch layer of mulch down to help prevent spring weeds.
